Mountain View Elementary School in Albemarle County, Virginia received funding for a school addition including the renovation of their existing play areas and outdoor space. The project was completed in 2023 and we were thrilled to be able to work alongside Albemarle County Public Schools for this amazing opportunity to bring the best in playground and outdoor recreation equipment to their students through our partnership with BCI Burke.

Area 1: Prekindergarten

This area includes a 2-5 structure with built in shade, STEM Play panels, arch swing bay with Freedom Swing Seat (Inclusive) and Engineered Wood Fiber for safety surfacing.

Area 2: Kindergarten through Second Grade

This area has an accessible structure that includes shade, ramps to accommodate mobility devices, a sensory rail and an Innova Rocker, a rocking experience designed for ALL children. It also features an arch swing bay with a Freedom Swing Seat (Inclusive) and unitary safety surfacing.

Area 3: Third through Fifth Grade

By far the widest area featuring the Nucelus Evolution Tower, Rope Tunnel, Victory Climber and linked climbing and balance components that take kids all the way from the structure to the RopeVenture Revolv Rope Climber without ever having to stop moving.

Areas 4 & 5: Outdoor Classroom and Seating

To round out the play opportunities, the school also added an outdoor seating and classroom area just beyond the PreK area. It includes DuMor picnic tables and will eventually include a 28' x 36' ShadePlay Max Hip Shade to cover the area. Not pictured is an additional seating area in the front entry of the school.
