Bright Starts Daycare and Learning Center in Manassas, Virginia is a state-of-the-art childcare facility that that provides learning and guidance for kids who are infants through pre-K. Because learning through play is such an important part of their curriculum, they needed a playground update that would bring those important skills to their outdoor space.
Veteran Project Manager, Bert Weltens, worked with the management at Bright Starts Daycare to make many transformational changes to their outdoor space. There are so many areas of the playground for the kids to explore including structures for different age groups, a passive shaded area, a swing area and a music area. Perhaps the design detail that stands out the most is the vibrant colors used. In this case, color invites kids to explore the world around them by drawing attention to the different play elements. Having a rainbow of colors ties in thematically to Bright Starts logo and was important to the overall feel of the playground. And we cannot forget to mention the unitary safety surfacing, which provides excellent fall protection as well as additional color to pull the space together.
